A Moment of Silence

I ask for a moment of silence and special prayers for two members of Derek's Platoon and their families.  These brave men were members of Company C (Derek was Company B), and we must remember that our young men and women live in mortal danger every day for our country.
Pfc. Douglas J. Jeffries Jr., 20, of Springville, Calif.
Spc. Koran P. Contreras, 21, of Lawndale, Calif.
Both of these brave soldiers died of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device Sept. 8 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
The 10th Mountain has been hit hard during this deployment.  Please keep the rest of the 10th Mountain, as well as ALL of our troops in your prayers so that they return home safe and sound to their loved ones.
Lord, please bring peace to the families of these brave warriors.
